Grouse Mountain

Grouse Mountain is one of the most popular attractions in the Vancouver area. It's the perfect destination for a winter visit where you can ride an exciting gondola to the top of the mountain and spend the day skiing the slopes, skating on an outdoor ice rink, dining or just taking in the stupendous views of Vancouver.

In the summer time, most people enjoy Grouse on the trails. There is great hiking in the area with multiple trails including the most famous trail in Vancouver, the Grouse Grind! There are lots of warm weather activities including dining, para gliding, mountain biking, and helicopter tours.

Best of all it is only 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver! You can not drive to the top of the mountain as there is no public road. If you're fit and the weather is clear, you can hike up the physically demanding Grouse Grind trail directly to the top of Grouse Mountain. However it is strongly advised to take some money and buy a ticket on the gondola at least one way! Every year some people need to be rescued from the trail so please dress appropriately and bring water. Also mind the signs, as a closed trail is really a closed trail!

Grouse Mountain is a great destination in both winter and summer. Other mountain parks on the North Shore include: Cypress Mountain in West Vancouver and Seymour Mountain in North Vancouver, both of which have winter skiing and summer hiking.
